Half Term May 2016

The girls arrived Tuesday for a couple of days. A full day was planned starting with a session of making BBQ sauce. About every two years we make a ' cauldron ' of bbq sauce which involves a lot of splashing bottles of tomato sauce, Worcester sauce, soy sauce, red jam, honey, lemon juice and mustard into my large jam making pan. Next comes the "hubble bubble" while it comes to the boil.
The house smells like we should be having a burger bbq but it is raining hard so we have to make do with eating indoors.

Abigail started a new crochet project, As-we-go stripey blanket by http://notyouraveragecrochet.com
She is really progressing with her crochet and at school is one of the only girls in her class that knows how to sew and crochet.

Eleanor loves to work on her Kumihimo and started a new project using embroidery floss. The finished items will make great friendship braclets. She also made me a necklace with fabric and beads from a kit a friend gave me.
At the end of the day there were a lot of sleepy people. I so love having the girls here.
