We arranged for a surprise Birthday gift for Richard's 50th Birthday long before all my problems.
A Trip on a train for the six of us with lunch included, very sadly I just could not make the journey, so Jacq arranged for a couple of friends, Ian and Clare to take our place.
Richard knew nothing about it or where they were going until he sat in the car ready to leave and Jacq put it in the Sat Nav. The girls then googled where they were going. Churnet Valley Railway, East of Stoke on Trent in the Peak District.
As they drove up to the Station Richard commented Ian would love this and then low and behold they were waiting for them at the station, another surprise.
The journey took an hour, as they were fed their starter and main course, all said the food was wonderful. The engine was then turned around and they returned for dessert and cheese and biscuits.
This trip came highly recomened by all of them, and I hope one day we can make it as a family.
A Very Happy Birthday Richard for the most caring son, that we are so proud of.

Love going on trains & steam ones are even more fun. The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway in Kent is very good
So sorry you had to miss this trip with your family. It was a great gift. The heart is wonderful. If you like cross-stitch you might like this: https://laceandquilts.blogspot.com/2019/12/st-martins-raffle-2019.html
I put all 24 patterns up to download. My SIL Jane in Windsor stitched a set for my church here and I have to make the calendar for another raffle next week. Everybody is crazy about it and wants to win it.
You are on our prayer list!!!
