Last year I noticed a few stray violets in my side lawn.
It's almost a secret lawn as I think I am the only person that goes near it. My compost bins, raspberry canes and rhubarb edge the lawn. Actually calling it a lawn is quite an exaggeration, it is terrible and the grass never grows, its usually just green with moss!
What a surprise a few days ago when suddenly the whole lawn area is covered in violets.
Such lovely old fashioned flowers. Chris is now forbidden to go near it with a lawn mower!
