Raised beds

The raised beds are now ready for planting. It has been a mammoth task clearing the garden, building the beds and finally filling them with top soil.. now for the fun part, planting them up.
For a while they looked like three coffins, glad to see the soil in them.

Talking of soil, I think I mentioned we slightly over ordered, by 1 and 1/2 tons !!!
Not wanting it to go to waste, I bought some potato growing containers and while things get sorted in the garden as a temporary measure they are in the back/side garden, that no one sees and it is were we keep the compost bins and the rows of raspberries.  I have ordered some seed potatoes and carrots and we should be eating fresh veggies as soon as they arrive and grow... New potatoes for Christmas hopefully.

All these containers will be used to grow vegetables as soon as I can get some seeds.

Other news....

This is the fence between us and our neighbour, they had acquired a hot tub and it was too large to go down the other side of their house , so it was lifted over our joint garages into their garden.

This was the first try before it was too close to our house and had to be turned on its side... such excitement on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
